Group Classes

The goal of our Group Exercise Program is to provide you with professional instruction and safe, effective, well-balanced fun workouts. We offer a variety of classes and instructors that focus on cardiovascular conditions, strength and flexibility training, and body mind awareness. Many of our classes are geared for all levels of fitness and some are more appropriate for beginning, intermediate or the advanced exerciser. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read the following class descriptions so you can get the most out of your workout. Our instructors are here to help you. If you

Melissa, Group Fitness Director

Melissa Castillo is the Group Fitness Director for the Glastonbury Workout World Fitness Studio.  She is currently studying to receive her Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and enjoys being active in her daily life.  Outside of the gym, Melissa enjoys hiking, fishing and being outdoors.  Melissa is CPR certified from the American Heart Association and enjoys living a health focused and physically active life style.  She enjoys the face to face interactions and being available to the fitness studio members.  Melissa works to provide a varied schedule of classes to help fit any fitness level.  She encourages members to try new classes to help them reach their fitness goals.

Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.  It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.

Kickboxing – Combination of aerobics, boxing and martial arts – it’s one of the most popular fitness trends. This intense, total-body workout can improve strength, aerobic fitness, flexibility, coordination and balance.

This class combines basic cycling movements with motivational coaching, breathing awareness, and heart rate training. This non-impact, individually paced, cardio class will definitely move you! The time added to each class is for set-up and clean-up of bikes before and after each class. GREAT FOR BEGINNERS!!!
